Popular Types of Reception Wall Signs
RECEPTION LOBBY WALL SIGNS
Making a big first impression as you enter your reception lobby area and presenting a professional image of your company is crucial for all businesses large or small.
A professionally-made reception sign displaying your company branding or company logo on it will truly deliver a strong image and a statement that all visitors will see the moment they step foot through the door.
Reception wall signs are an effective method of corporate branding and there are a vast range of manufacturing methods and design concepts to display your company logo as either a 3D logo sign which stands out proud from the wall, or as a 2D logo sign design which could sit quite flat to the wall for a more subtle effect.
In many cases, by combining different materials such as metal, acrylic or vinyl, you’re able to produce a reception sign which looks bespoke and tailor made to your business, compared to some off-the-shelf generic signs which can look a bit mass-produced and nothing special.
Here at Logo Signs we work with you to create the right reception sign for your business. Using your brand guidelines and company logo, we’re able to transform your logo into a physical and dimensional piece of signage which you can be proud to display on your wall.
Here are some of our recommended methods of production:

3D illuminated logo signs Displaying your logo as a three-dimensional illuminated logo sign on a wall is arguably the top end when it comes to signmaking and certainly one of the most sort after methods of producing a logo as the finish quality and lighting effect used brings the branding to life and transforms what would be a plain wall into an illuminated feature wall. There are many ways in which your logo can be illuminated by using a range of lighting methods as well as a variety of materials, all of which display your logo in a different style from subtlety illuminating the logo from behind so that the logo floats on a cloud of halo light, to the all singing and dancing illuminated logos which light up in bright lights and colours. Illuminated logo signs are usually illuminated using LED lighting modules which are imbedded inside the logo, however neon lights and incandescent bulbs are often used to create a slightly different lighting effect. Raised flat cut acylic logo signs Flat cut acrylic logo signs get their name from the method of production used as the logo is usually cut from a flat sheet of acrylic before each section is mounted to the wall using a raised wall fixing – so in actual fact the logo is still classified as being three dimensional – it’s just not raised off the wall as much as a built up 3D acrylic logo. The depth of the flat cut acrylic used for this style of signage is usually 5-10mm thick, compared to a 3D acrylic logo which is usually 30mm - 100mm thick. With this style of signage, the logo can be mounted flush to the wall which creates a slightly embossed effect, or it can be raised off the wall by 10mm - 20mm with raised wall fixings. The acrylic logos are produced in either a standard stock acrylic colour, they can be painted in your desired pantone / RAL colour, or for more complex logo designs they can have digitally printed vinyl applied to the front of the acrylic – all of which produce a slightly different end product. 3D acrylic office logo signs Fabricated by hand by constructing flat pieces of acrylic together to create chunky three-dimensional signs and logos, the 3D acrylic office logo signs are a superb way of creating more depth to your logo, resulting in a logo which literally jumps out from the wall. The depth of the 3D acrylic logos typically range from about 30mm – 100mm thick depending on the overall width of the logo. With this method of production, the logo can be mounted to the wall with raised wall brackets which leaves a small gap behind the logo to create a floating effect, or the logo can be mounted flush to the wall. Because each section of the logo is produced with a hollow recessed back, LED lighting can usually be installed inside the letters if illumination is required. The acrylic logos are produced using a range of pre-coloured acrylics which is a cost effect method of production as the logo doesn’t incur additional paint costs, however if your logo needs to be produced in a specific RAL colour or Pantone colour then we may be limited to choice, in which case it may be best to have the logo produced in a painted metal. Painted flat cut metal logo signs A popular method of producing cost effective and durable signage is by producing the logo in flat cut metal. The logo design is laser-cut from a flat sheet of either aluminium or steel before being painted in the required pantone or RAL colour of choice. The thickness of the metal used ranges between 2mm – 5mm and by mounting the logo to the wall with raised wall fixings, additional depth and drop shadowing is created to enhance the three-dimensional effect. With this style of signage, the logo can also be mounted flush to the wall which creates a subtle embossed effect if preferred. If your logo is made up of different colours and complex digital designs then printed graphics can also be applied to the painted metal to achieve the design needed. Painted 3D metal logo signs The 3D painted metal logo signs are by far the most popular choice when it comes to custom made office logos as they’re so versatile and allow you to create a logo which is not only three-dimensional and durable, but they can also be customised in specific colours, paint finishes, as well as a range of thicknesses and depths. The logos are handmade by fabricating flat pieces of metal together to create a boxed three-dimensional representation of your logo. The depth of the logo usually varies between 20mm – 100mm however this is usually determined by the overall size of the logo. Once the logo is constructed together it is painted in your choice of Pantone colour or RAL colour with a choice of paint finishes ranging from matt, satin, semi-gloss and gloss. With this 3D method of production, the metal logo can be mounted to the wall with raised wall brackets or the logo can be mounted flush to the wall. You also have the option of having LED lighting installed inside the letters if illumination is required. For more information on painted 3D metal logo signs, please click here

The chrome metal logo can be mounted flush to the wall or raised off the wall by using discrete raised wall brackets which creates a small gap behind the logo to produce a floating effect. Neon office logo signs Neon office signs have recently become quite popular within the office for displaying company logos and slogans, especially within breakout areas and staff canteens as they’re very eye-catching and trendy. The neon signs are produced using the traditional craftsman’s method of production by bending glass tubes to create the desired design for either a series of text or logo design. The neon logo in then filled with gasses such as neon which once connected to a powder-source produce an array of different coloured lighting effects. In order to protect the fragile neon glass tubes, the neon logo sign is usually enclosed within a clear acrylic casing unit which not only prevents breakage, but also allows the logo to be easily hung up on the wall. Acrylic office reception plaque signs Probably one of the most popular methods of producing a reception wall sign is by displaying the company logo on a custom made acrylic wall plaque. The acrylic wall signs are produced to your exact shape and size needed and available in a range of thicknesses ranging from 5mm – 10mm thick. The acrylic signs are usually produced from a flat clear transparent sheet of acrylic which is cut and then flame polished to produce the platform in which the graphics can be applied to. The graphics are usually printed onto a vinyl which is reverse applied to the back of the acrylic which not only protect the graphics from getting scratched or worn off when cleaned, but it also ensures the acrylic plaque sign has a glossy surface finish. The sign is usually mounted to the wall using a range of brushed or polished chrome stainless steel wall fixings which ensure the reception wall sign floats slightly proud off the wall. Folded aluminium tray sign A great way of producing a rigid professional platform to display your logo on is by producing a folded aluminium tray which can be produced in most sizes and shapes. A flat sheet of either 2mm or 3mm thick aluminium is used to create the backing panel, with all four sides folded over at a 90 degree angle and welded together to strengthen the sign. The aluminium tray sign can then be painted in a variety of pantone colours and RAL colours to suit your branding identity. A digitally printed graphic can also be applied to replicate a desired finish such as granite or timber. The logo can then be applied to the sign tray by either using vinyl graphics which are simply laid flat on the surface of the sign, or for a slightly raised three-dimensional effect, materials such as acrylic or metals such as stainless steel can be mounted on the tray to create the design required. Engraved polished stainless steel plaque sign Stainless steel plaques portray a strong, well established brand identity which oozes high quality and class – plus they look great! Typically used mainly for smaller scale signage usually ranging between 200mm – 600mm (larger plaque sizes are available), the stainless steel plaques are available in a mirror polished or brushed stainless steel finish. The logo is deep engraved into the surface of the metal before being filled with the brand colours required. The sign plaque is then mounted flush to a machine-finished timber base plate which can be painted in a number of different colours, or varnished in a light / dark wooden finish. The stainless steel plaque signs are a great addition to an entrance of a building where space may be limited, and they’re also a smart form of signage if you share a building with multiple companies as you’re able to uniformly display each company logo.
